Mikel Arteta on Arsenal’s Lack of Striker Options

Mikel Arteta: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that it would not be easy for them to play with only one available striker at their disposal until Gabriel Jesus recovers from injury.

Gabriel Jesus is currently sidelined after picking up an injury during Brazil’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign. Gabriel Jesús was part of the Brazilian soccer team that participated in Qatar 2022.

But the Arsenal striker picked up an injury while playing for Brazil in their third Group G game, against Cameroon. He was ruled out for the remainder of the FIFA World Cup campaign.

Gabriel Jesús, who suffered a knee injury, has already undergone surgery and is currently recovering. Arsenal are likely to be without the Brazil international until late February or early March.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup third round, Mikel Arteta confessed that it would not be easy for them to play with just one striker available for selection until Gabriel Jesus returns.

After Mohamed Elneny put Arsenal ahead in the 63rd minute of their match against Oxford United, Eddie Nketiah scored on 70 and 76 minutes to seal victory for the north London side.
