Mike Tyson duped by serial killer weeks before arrest

Mike Tyson didn’t know that a serial killer had entered his gym to interview the former heavyweight champion.

“The Baddest Man on the Planet” let convicted murderer Dale Hausner through his doors weeks before his arrest.

Hausner had recently killed eight people and wounded 19 and was close to being sent to prison for life before the death sentence was carried out.

Tyson knew nothing about the situation when Hausner questioned him as part of a website assignment. Hausner had interviewed BJ Flores and was credited as a boxing photographer.

Explaining the meeting, Tyson told Jimmy Kimmel that police had approached him for comment about the meeting with Hausner.

“I came out and was talking to the guy. [policeman]. He showed me the photo of me and the boy because it was on his website.

“He said, ‘Do you know this gentleman?’ And I told him: ‘Well sir, I don’t know, he was promoting a fight, if I should have said something to him, if I offended him, I’m sorry.’

“I didn’t mean to do that.” And he said, ‘No, he liked you, Mr. Tyson.’ He didn’t like the 28 people he shot and the eight he killed.’”

It is not the first time that Tyson has had a sinister incident with a journalist.

Speaking to Sky News host Dermot Murnaghan, Tyson reacted to questions about his treatment of people during his first run as heavyweight champion.

“You know what? Can I tell you something? I was a kid then,” he said. “I’m 43 years old and you’re still thinking about something I said when I was 21 or 19. I’m 43.

“What do you want to get out of this interview? What are you trying to get out of me?

When now pressed about his personality, he added: “I don’t know if I am or not. I don’t want to be the person she was, but change comes with time.

“Change really comes on time. I feel upset now. I guess I changed because I’m not attacking you. But now I feel upset.

“I feel like you are evoking things from the past. “That was 15 or 20 years ago.”

On another Canadian television show, Tyson became angry because Nathan Downer criticized him for the prison sentence he served.

“There is a race for mayor, we know you are a convicted rapist, this could damage your campaign. Now how do you respond to that?

The former undisputed ruler responded: “I don’t know who said that. You’re the only one I heard him say that.

“It’s very interesting because you seem like a good guy, but in reality you’re a piece of shit. Fuck you. Because it’s negative and you’re being negative.

“It’s more stressful for me to sit here talking to a shitty rat like you. You’re a piece of shit, you really are. Fuck you”.

In 20133, Hausner committed suicide in prison while serving his sentence.
