Manchester United legend Michael Carrick praised Christian Eriksen.
The 30-year-old has been a revelation this season, adding calm to United’s midfield.
Previously, the team had trouble developing attacks due to a lack of technical quality from players like Fred and Scott McTominay.
With Eriksen in midfield, United now have better possession and can build attacks fluidly.
Carrick was one of United’s best holding midfielders and was known for his calm and composure under pressure.
He was a vital part of the team that won the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League in 2008.
In a recent interview, Carrick praised Eriksen’s intelligence:
“I’m not surprised one bit [by Eriksen’s form],” he said. “I played against him a lot; I watched him a lot. I like him a lot.”
“He is a fantastic footballer. He is smart; he is clever. “
“It almost doesn’t matter what position I play,” the former Red said.
“He can adapt. He is simply a smart, intelligent footballer with great quality”.
“I was happy when we signed it, and I wasn’t surprised one bit. He is a top player”.
United’s weak midfield is finally taking shape under Ten Hag.
Eriksen’s technical security will allow players like Bruno Fernandes to advance further and score more goals.
