But although Giuseppe Marotta was the club’s general manager at the time, he seemed to be left out during the superstar’s introduction, with his pupil Fabio Paratici taking over.
Many felt that the current Inter director was against the change and he eventually left the club shortly after.
However, Marotta states that he was totally against Ronaldo’s transfer, stating that his time at the club had already come to an end.
“Within the company it is clear that there may be different ideas and it is not true that I was totally against Ronaldo’s transfer,” Marotta told Radio Anch’Io Sport via JuventusNews24.
“He is a great champion but in addition to his talent, you also have to evaluate the economic aspect. That said, my time at Juve was coming to an end.”

While Marotta does not explicitly say that he was not in favor of the transfer, his words suggest that he was not entirely in favor of the new direction taken by the club at the time.
