Marotta reveals his stance on Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus in 2018 –

Since bursting onto the scene as a talented young footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has repeatedly been sending shockwaves throughout the football world, be it with his impressive goals, outrageous skills, controversial antics, or even his raunchy interviews.

For example, the Portuguese made a quake in his recent statements, admitting that there is little respect between him and Man United boss Erik ten Haag.

In 2018, CR7 stole all the headlines from the World Cup in Russia when he left Real Madrid for Juventus.

But although Giuseppe Marotta was the club’s general manager at the time, he seemed to be left out during the superstar’s introduction, with his pupil Fabio Paratici taking over.

Many felt that the current Inter director was against the change and he eventually left the club shortly after.

However, Marotta states that he was totally against Ronaldo’s transfer, stating that his time at the club had already come to an end.

“Within the company it is clear that there may be different ideas and it is not true that I was totally against Ronaldo’s transfer,” Marotta told Radio Anch’Io Sport via JuventusNews24.

“He is a great champion but in addition to his talent, you also have to evaluate the economic aspect. That said, my time at Juve was coming to an end.”

Juve FC says

While Marotta does not explicitly say that he was not in favor of the transfer, his words suggest that he was not entirely in favor of the new direction taken by the club at the time.

Paratici seemed like the right candidate to fulfill Andrea Agnelli’s lavish project, so the veteran director had to go.
