Marcus Rashford has been one of the beneficiaries of Erik ten Hag’s arrival at Manchester United. The striker was in good form in pre-season, something he has replicated so far in the Premier League.
As well as a goal against Arsenal, the Englishman was United’s man of the match in their 3-1 win over Arsenal. He scored two and gave an assist, in a sublime performance.
Three Lions men’s coach Gareth Southgate appears to have taken note of Rashford’s recent performances and is considering calling him up to the England squad.
According to Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star, United don’t. 10 is on Southgate’s thoughts with the Qatar World Cup now just a few months away.
According to Cross, “Gareth Southgate will consider giving Marcus Rashford an England lifeline.”

The 24-year-old, along with Red Devils teammate Jadon Sancho, was dropped from the squad for friendlies against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast.
The names of the two United stars were omitted after struggling to maintain form with their club and a series of poor performances.
In March at Rashford, Southgate said: “With Marcus, he’s in the same position as everyone else, whether they’re in the team or not, everyone has to play well in the next term.”
“It’s a tough time for him, he’s clearly not at his best.”
“There is enough time. We know Marcus, we know what he can bring us.”
Rashford is certainly defending himself to return to the England squad, which is one of the favorites to win football’s most coveted silver medal.
United fans are hoping that Southgate will keep his word and that the academy graduate will continue to produce what is necessary to give him the best chance of retirement.
