Man Utd news: ‘We can be proud of ourselves’ – Marcus Rashford
Speaking after their win over Arsenal, Rashford said that Man Utd can be proud of themselves. “It’s always a great game against Arsenal, especially as they’ve had such a good start to the season,” Rashford told Sky Sports.
“It was a great test for us today. We show up and rise to the challenge. We can be proud of ourselves. It’s good to get into a rhythm.”
Rashford was impressive for Man Utd against Arsenal, playing a part in all three goals against the north London side.
It was Rashford who assisted Antony in Man Utd’s first goal, and the England international introduced the Brazilian full-back. Antony spread his body and bent the ball into the net to send Man Utd up one goal.
After Bukayo Saka equalized for Arsenal on the hour mark, Rashford restored Man Utd’s one-goal lead just six minutes later. Bruno Fernandes played a delicious ball up the middle and Rashford ran to him and passed it to Aaron Ramsdale and netted it.
Rashford then scored his second and Man Utd’s third of the match in the 75th minute. Fernandes played an exquisite ball around the Arsenal defense and Christian Eriksen timed his run to perfection. The Danish midfielder then chose to square the ball to Rashford, who finished it off on goal.
Victory over Arsenal moves Man Utd up to fifth place in the Premier League points table. Man Utd, who had lost their first two games, now have 12 points from six games. They are just three points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Man Utd host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford in the next match of the Europa League group stage.
