Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has praised two of his teammates for their stellar performance in the Carabao Cup win against Burnley.
Rashford praised Christian Eriksen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The pair combined brilliantly for United’s first goal of the game. Bruno Fernandes passed the ball to Wan-Bissaka, who acrobatically reached it and crossed to Eriksen. The Dane was late in the box and climbed over the edge to shoot into the back of the net.
Rashford himself scored a second-half goal to ensure United progressed to the quarter-finals.
Speaking after the game, Rashford, who won the man of the match award, said: “Yes, a hugely important player. [Wan-Bissaka].
“We all know his defensive qualities and to me he just needs confidence to be pushed forward because when he advances he can create scoring chances for us and today he had no right to receive that ball but he got there anyway. .
“It was a good crossed ball and it seems like a simple goal at the end, but it’s not, it’s the movement and timing of the three players. Christian arrives late to the area and gets a tap-in. It was a great goal and Azza played an important role.”
On his reasoning behind his superbly worked goal, Rashford commented that he was dribbling and wanted one of Burnley’s defenders out of position so he could pass the ball to Antony.
However, he raised his head and saw an opening. The Englishman did not miss his opportunity and sent the ball to the opposite corner of the goal.
The 25-year-old player expressed his intention to continue betting on the team.
Rashford said he is looking forward to playing, especially after his limited involvement with England in what was ultimately a disappointing tournament for the Three Lions.

Rashford also reiterated that everyone in the team is at a high level and training well.
