The 37-year-old scored 24 goals for Man Utd in the first season of his second spell at the club. Ronaldo scored 18 of those in the Premier League and the rest in the Champions League. He finished the season as Man Utd’s top scorer.

But Ronaldo has struggled to score goals for the Red Devils this season. He has managed to register just one goal for the Old Trafford side so far in the 22/23 campaign.

But Rashford has backed Ronaldo to start scoring goals again for the Premier League side. Rashford lavished praise on Ronaldo, calling the Portuguese an incredible player.

The England international also said that it is a pleasure to play with Ronaldo. “Ronaldo is an incredible player, and he has been an incredible player since I saw him when he was young,” Rashford said.

“It is a pleasure to play with him. We can keep building and when he starts scoring goals, he won’t stop.

“We just have to try and keep putting the ball into positions when he is in front of goal. After a game like that (City), it doesn’t matter who you play against or where you play, the important thing is to win. But we will have to be much better on the ball and show much more intensity at Everton.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has seemingly lost his place in Man Utd’s starting XI. He is no longer the unbeatable he once was. He has appeared in nine games for Man Utd this season, with only four of those coming as a starter.

Of the four starts, only one came in the Premier League. He has so far made six Premier League appearances this season. He came off the bench in five of those games.

Ronaldo was also left as an unused substitute when Man Utd met Man City in their previous Premier League game.

Ronaldo has also not scored a goal in the Premier League this season. The only goal he has scored so far this season came in the Europa League. That was a penalty goal, with the Portuguese converting from the penalty spot against FC Sheriff.
