Marcel Sabitzer’s agent has spoken about the player’s transfer to Manchester United on deadline day.
As reported in The Mirror, Sabitzer’s agent, Roger Wittman, made his comments to German news outlet TZ.de.
Wittman says his client is a great player, desperate to make his mark at Old Trafford after not playing as much as he’d like for Bayern.
“It is clear that he [Sabitzer] want to play. He is a top player, not just any player. All I can say is that Marcel is the most uncomfortable when he is not playing.” He said.
The agent believes Sabitzer has the mentality to succeed at the highest level and describes the Austrian as a “killer” because of his character.
“He is the most uncomfortable player when he loses, that is the main thing. He’s a killer in character, the guy. he said.
These qualities certainly mirror those of Erik ten Hag, who was charged with changing the mindset around Old Trafford and improving quality.
Described by the summer signing of Casemiro as “obsessed with winning” and “always wanting the best”, Ten Hag appears to have signed another player who will fit his spirit at the club.
Sabitzer, brought in to replace the injured Christian Eriksen, is expected to get plenty of playing time with United facing a packed schedule.
The midfielder joined on loan until the end of the season, but good performances can lead to a permanent change.
His high-energy style, coupled with quality on the ball, will provide Ten Hag with more than cover from now until the end of the season.
Sabitzer, 28, also brings experience to Old Trafford, having played at the highest level of European football, as well as having made more than 60 appearances for his country.
Sabitzer could be in line to make his Premier League debut on Saturday, with United entertaining Crystal Palace in an unusual 3pm GMT kick-off.
