Manchester United winger Antony has reacted to criticism for his antics during the Red Devils’ Europa League match against FC Sheriff. The Old Trafford side hosted FC Sheriff in their fifth Europa League game of the season and posted a 3-0 win. Goals from Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo helped the Red Devils take three points from the game.

Antony had started for Manchester United in the match, but was withdrawn at half-time. Erik ten Hag replaced the Brazilian winger with Rashford early in the second half, and the English attacker would go on to score Man Utd’s second goal of the match.

Antony had achieved a 720 degree turn during the first half of the match against FC Sheriff. He received backlash for his bragging antics, with Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage among critics of the Brazilian’s actions.

Antony reacted to the criticism he has received for the 720 degree turn, in an Instagram story. He shared the video of his spinning on his Instagram story, and insisted in the caption that he won’t stop doing it.

“We are known for our art and I will not stop doing what has brought me to where I am!” Antonio wrote about his story.

There were suggestions that Ten Hag’s decision to take Antony out at half time was due to the Brazilian’s antics. However, Ten Hag dismissed such suggestions, insisting that it was more or less pre-planned.

Meanwhile, Man Utd produced a dominant display against FC Sheriff at Old Trafford. The Red Devils saw more of the ball and kept testing FC Sheriff goalkeeper Maksym Koval throughout the match.

However, Ten Hag’s men had to wait until the 44th minute to open their scoring. And it came from Dalot, who finished off a header after a corner from Christian Eriksen.

Rashford then scored Man Utd’s second of the game in the 65th minute, directing his header on goal from a Luke Shaw corner.

Ronaldo made it 3-0 in the 81st minute, lashing out on the rebound after forcing a save from the FC Sheriff goalkeeper.

The victory over Sheriff kept alive Man Utd’s hopes of topping Group E. They now have 12 points from five games and are three points behind table leaders Real Sociedad. Man Utd will top the group if they beat Sociedad by at least 2-0 in their next game in the competition.
