Manchester United will need to bid at least €50million plus bonuses to secure Cody Gakpo – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United will have to offer at least 50 million euros (49.91 million pounds sterling) to discuss a possible transfer of Cody Gakpo from PSV.

The club remains interested in signing the striker who has been impressive during the World Cup.

He has scored in every game during the group stage of the competition and many European clubs are now showing interest.

Man United were keen over the summer as they looked to reinvent their attack after a disappointing season.

However, the club decided not to sign the Dutch international and instead signed Antony after previously working with Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

Sport Witness is now reporting the price United will need to start with if they want to start talks for a potential Gakpo transfer.

The medium assures through Voetbal International that PSV will not negotiate for less than 50 million euros.

Gakpo wants to go to a ‘world superpower’ once the World Cup is over with matches already planned with clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool and United.

A possible move in January could occur after the complicated departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

There was also speculation that Ten Hag would try to sign a new attacker in the next transfer window.

However, the need to sign a new striker has become more critical with United coming up short in the race for Champions League qualification.

Last summer, Gakpo was available for just €40m including bonuses, but his price has been rising ever since.

The Dutch international has scored 13 goals in all competitions for his club this season.

This year alone, he has scored five goals for his country with three World Cup goals coming in important points during the match.

If United were to proceed with a possible transfer, it would be after the player’s participation in the World Cup.

The best thing for the club is to start negotiations as soon as possible before its price increases further.
