Manchester United suffer Saudi sponsorship blow as lucrative deal is called off – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have been hit hard in their efforts to acquire a new shirt sponsor.

A few weeks ago, the club had announced that it had reached an agreement with TeamViewer to end mutual sponsorship of the team’s jersey.

However, until United get a new sponsor, TeamViewer will remain on the United jersey.

TeamViewer’s withdrawal of its sponsorship came amid takeover claims with the Glazers looking to finally sell and oversee a change of ownership at Old Trafford.

According to EPL World, United bosses were in negotiations with the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority to become the new Red Devils jersey sponsor.

Richard Arnold met with representatives of the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority about the deal.

However, for unexplained reasons, the signing and announcement have been cancelled.

EPL World reports: “The Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority has halted negotiations with Manchester United over the club’s jersey sponsorship.”

“There was a tripartite meeting between the executive director of the club, the representative of the authority Anas Al-Sharif and the representative of the social responsibility experts Saud Al-Subaie.”

“The initial contract was supposed to be signed between the two parties this week.”

Pictured is an image of United’s shirt displayed on a television screen with “Visit Saudi Arabia” clearly brandished in the center of the shirt.

Another image shows Cristiano Ronaldo wearing the brand’s uniform. It is unclear what may have led to the signing being cancelled.

It remains to be seen if it will take place again at a future date or if talks have collapsed entirely. However, it is not a good look for United. From the outside, the club appears to be in crisis at every turn.
