Their next game comes on Thursday night against Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League group stage.
In that game, United are expected to play a second row, but with their up-and-down league form, Ten Hag is likely to reassess his strongest eleven against the Toffees.
As Railston reported, Monday’s investigation into derby day’s 6-3 loss led to an open exchange of analysis between the coaching staff.
At this stage, it is unknown how critical the United stars were of each other.
What is almost certain is that the party line used in front of the media will not have gone well in the cold light of day.
Several stars, as well as Ten Hag himself, cited a lack of faith as a key factor behind United’s first-half collapse.
However, given that this team came into the game on the back of a four-game Premier League winning run that included unlikely wins over Liverpool and Arsenal, it is unlikely to have been washed away by United fans.
Poor performances from the likes of Scott McTominay, Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia should not undermine their fantastic form this season.
But it certainly opens the door for Ten Hag to ring the changes on Sunday.
