Manchester United and Chelsea are firmly interested in Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.
Both English clubs were linked to the defender over the summer, but the player, aware of first-team opportunities ahead of the World Cup, opted to stay in Italy.
However, the Red Devils’ interest in the player does not appear to have faded, with the club looking for someone to compete with Diogo Dalot.
Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has hardly appeared and has been considered not to be in the manager’s plans.
According to InterLive via Sport Witness, “Although Inter do not want to deprive themselves of their Flying Dutchman, especially in the middle of the season, they know that the shadow of Manchester United and Chelsea continues to hang over him.”
“The idea stems from the fact that his performances are increasing in value, as Dumfries has reached a value of around €45-50m.
“In the summer, if not in January, I could even end up in the Premier League.”
Such is the level of interest in England that Inter have already started sounding out possible replacements for Dumfries.
Juventus’ Colombian star Juan Cuadrado is a possibility who could arrive at the San Siro as a free agent in place of the Dutch international.
Cuadrado’s intermediaries are already working on a possible exchange for La Vieja.
In addition to Cuadrado, the Torino Wilfried Singo is another alternative. It is a younger option, although it would require a fee.
Dumfries’ main point of attraction for both Chelsea and United is his ability to play wide positions and overlap excellently. She would be a solid choice to pick alongside Dalot if he came to Theater of Dreams.
