When Erik ten Hag took over the reins at Manchester United, he had a major rebuilding job on his hands. Not only in terms of signing, but also in rebuilding the confidence of several underperforming stars.
And the Dutchman seems to be on the right track for both. Fans have already seen a huge improvement in the performance levels of the likes of Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot.
The hiring part is still an ongoing process. He has definitely transformed a leaky defense through the signings of Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.
Reinforcements are needed in the midfield
But there is still work to be done in midfield and beyond. The Red Devils signed Casemiro for big money, as well as Christian Eriksen, but due to the age of both stars, it’s important for the club to look at younger options.
One player who has been of interest to the club for some time now is Brighton Hove and Albion star Moises Caicedo. He was first a target when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.
But in the end the club did not follow that interest and the Ecuadorian star ended up signing for the Gaviotas from Independiente del Valle.

And ever since, the 21-year-old has been a revelation in the Premier League and has been a regular member of the starting eleven this season.
According to Sky Germany, Ten Hag is interested in adding the Ecuadorian to their ranks. “MUFC plans to enter the race! The bosses are very interested,” Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg tweeted.
The journalist also mentioned that Liverpool are also in the running and see the defensive midfielder as the ideal replacement should they be unable to complete the signing of Jude Bellingham.

Caicedo has also been an ever-present figure in Ecuador’s impressive World Cup career thus far. And his strong tackling presence in midfield has helped the South Americans pick up four points from their first two games.
