English Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly considering letting their Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo leave on a free transfer.
After playing three years at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United at the beginning of last season.
Despite Manchester United’s subpar performance, the Portuguese superstar scored 17 goals in last season’s Premier League and provided a further 3 assists. Meanwhile, she scored 6 more goals for Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo was United’s top scorer in all competitions and he was arguably the best player for them last season.
But things changed drastically when United appointed Dutch manager Erik ten Hag. The Portuguese striker lost his place in the starting eleven. He made appearances mainly off the bench in the English Premier League and started in the Europa League.

Previously, the Portuguese international was heavily linked with a departure from Old Trafford in the last transfer window of the summer. Many clubs such as Atlético de Madrid and Bayern Munich were thought of as his possible destination. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was also reportedly very interested in the striker.
There was also an offer from the Saudi Arabia-based club called Al-Hilal. Another rumor linked him to his old club, Sporting Lisbon. However, the deal never materialized and Cristiano Ronaldo stayed at Old Trafford.
Now, with United’s latest decision, Cristiano Ronaldo could finally see his second spell at the club come to an end. It has been understood that his agent Jorge Mendes is also looking for potential suitors for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
However, so far no club has been linked to him. But for sure his days at Manchester United seem limited.
