Manchester United Is Looking at Another England Star Out of Premier League

The search for Manchester United’s number 9 is still going on as they are following another English star from another league. According to football journalist Simon Phillips, the Red Devils are ready to spend money for former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

The England international left the Premier League last summer and has been linked with a return from day one of this summer transfer window.

After signing Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, Chelsea lost their purpose of retaining their academy product.

Although the striker had other options in the Premier League, he decided to sign for José Mourinho’s Roma, as the Portuguese coach was keen to sign him. Abraham replaced Roma’s star striker Dzeko, who decided to join Inter Milan.

During his time at Chelsea, he spent three seasons on loan at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa. During Frank Lampard’s period, he was getting a fair amount of playing time. He scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists for Chelsea. But after Tuchel’s arrival, his playing time was limited and he spent most of his time on the bench.

José Mourinho found the perfect opportunity to bring him to his new Roma team for a reported fee of £34m. The Blues have the option to buy back the striker for £68m as a buy-back clause in his contract.

The striker had a successful first season at Roma, scoring 27 goals in 53 games with 6 assists. He also won the Europa Conference League with Roma.

Manchester United look at him as a solution to their striker problem. They want to bring him to Old Trafford to lead the attack for Erik Ten Hag’s team. According to Calciomercato, Abraham impressed Ten Hag. The coach focused on signing Antonio from his old club, Ajax. But the English striker may return very soon.

Ronaldo’s future is in doubt as the Portuguese have expressed their discontent with his current team. Martial is also another injury-prone player who rarely appears in games as a starter.

Reports suggest that Manchester United have already contacted the striker’s representatives ahead of next summer.

Journalist Simon Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “I was told that Manchester United are interested in signing Abraham in the summer.”

Manchester United are also monitoring another Serie A superstar, Rafael Leao, as they want to add more attacking options to strengthen their goalscoring department.

Abraham has scored 119 goals in his senior career during his many spells with different clubs. He is a goal scorer with experience in the Premier League, which will help Manchester United a lot.
