Nottingham Forest will have to do without the services of Dean Henderson in their upcoming Carabao Cup semi-final tie against Manchester United.
This is according to The Manchester Evening News, who reports that the Red Devils will not consider Forest’s requests to file United’s loan against them.
Samuel Luckhurst broadcasts: “Manchester United will not allow Dean Henderson to play them for Nottingham Forest in the League Cup semi-final.”
“United will reject any request by Forest to allow Henderson to play on loan, although Forest manager Steve Cooper has resigned himself to Henderson’s absence in the last four after the game.”
Luckhurst adds: “United manager Erik ten Hag has been impressed by Henderson’s progress on loan at Forest, but United have yet to make a decision on the future of the England goalkeeper.”
Henderson’s absence from the starting XI is a huge blow to Steve Cooper’s side.
Against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter-final, the goalkeeper was man of the match as his two penalty saves in the shootout helped Forest progress to the next round.

Cooper was reminded of Henderson’s ban from playing United and said his absence dampened the team’s spirits after their memorable quarter-final win.
Cooper also praised Henderson’s commitment and professionalism to the club.
The United loanee will likely be replaced by Welsh goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.
When United recently beat Forest in the league, Hennessey were at fault for Anthony Martial’s goal which he let slip when it seemed he had it under control.
Whoever wins between United and Forest will face the winner of Southampton vs. Newcastle in the Wembley final.
