Manchester United face battle to sign Lille forward Jonathan David – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have been linked with Jonathan David as they look to bolster their attacking options.

According to GiveMeSport’s Dean Jones, the Red Devils could sign the Canadian after the World Cup in Qatar.

The Lille striker has already scored nine goals this season, sparking the interest of a host of Premier League clubs.

Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be monitoring their situation, although United could have the advantage over those clubs.

With a fee of more than £40m discussed, David could represent good value as the club look to bolster Erik ten Hag’s attacking options.

Man United have been without an in-form goalscorer this season with Anthony Martial struggling for form and Cristiano Ronaldo badly out of form.

Just last week, Ten Hag lamented his lack of attacking options as his team failed to score a second important goal against Real Sociedad.

David is a very talented finisher and could bring something different to United’s attack.

At just 22 years old, Canada’s hitman also has plenty of room to grow.

He has already scored 22 goals for his country and will be looking to add to that tally in Qatar this month.

As one of the best emerging strikers currently plying his trade in Europe, it won’t be long before David is signed by a big club.

Whether that club ends up being Manchester United or not remains to be seen.
