Manchester United completed Jack Butland’s signing

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Jack Butland from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. The England international will serve as David de Gea’s backup at Old Trafford following the return of Martin Dubravka to Newcastle United.

Jack Butland joined Crystal Palace from Stoke City during the 2020 summer transfer window. He has struggled to establish himself at Selhurst Park, featuring in just 10 Premier League games for the Eagles so far. His contract with the London club will expire at the end of the current season.

Manchester United are also looking to add a new striker to their roster following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese international’s contract at Old Trafford was terminated by mutual consent in November.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Joao Felix and Victor Osimhen have been linked with a move to the Red Devils in recent weeks. Erik ten Hag is likely to stay busy throughout the January window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The England international has struggled with playing time since the arrival of Erik ten Hag at the start of the current season. He has managed to start just three Premier League games this season.

In his offside column, Romano said: “There is still no major news about the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham held talks seeking information on the terms of the deal in December. But it’s still early stages.”
