English Premier League giants Manchester United are monitoring Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who currently plays for Serie A giants Juventus.
After spending time in the OFK Beograd academy, Dusan Vlahovic joined the Partisan youth setup at a young age.
The Serbian striker later graduated from the Partizan academy and was promoted to the senior team. After his promotion to the main team, Vlahovic played two seasons for Partizan and won one Serbian Super League and two Serbian Cup titles.
Vlahovic finally joined Fiorentina in 2018. At Fiorentina, the Serbian striker gradually became one of the best young strikers in the world. He scored 21 goals in the 2020-21 season and was awarded the Serie A best young player award. Vlahovic also continued his great goalscoring form the following year. The Serb was then signed by Serie A giants Juventus for a fee of €70m.
Manchester United Interested in Dusan Vlahovic
One of the best players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo is not going through the best of his time. Since the arrival of Erik ten hag, the Portuguese striker has played limited minutes. He has lost his prominence in the starting eleven and has lost his touch.
He was also involved in a great controversy in a match against Tottenham Hotspur. The striker reportedly stormed off the pitch even after the end of the match. He also refused to be replaced.
He was then dropped from the squad by United in their next game against Chelsea. And now, according to a report in The Telegraph, Cristiano Ronaldo is close to his departure from Old Trafford. As a result, United are looking for several strikers who can replace the Portugal captain.
One of the main names that have emerged is Dusan Vlahovic. Despite Juventus’ slow start, Vlahovic has been in great form so far. The striker has already scored seven goals this season. At 22 years old he is currently one of the best finishers in the world.
But despite Juventus’ financial problems, they have no interest in selling the Serb. They see it as a very important part of their project and want to keep it for many more years. So the contract negotiation will be very difficult for the Red Devils.
But it will be much easier if United qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Juventus is currently in eighth position in the table. And they may not finish in the top four. Then United will be able to get Vlahvoic out of Turin with Champions League football.
And if Vlahovic does decide to join Manchester United, Erik ten hag will have one of the best forward lines in his hand. A front three of Rashford Vlahovic and Antony will be a headache for every team they face.
