Manchester United are among a host of clubs to scout Ben Brereton Diaz

Manchester United are among a host of clubs seeking Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

Diaz is scheduled to be out of contract at the end of the season and will be able to sign a pre-contract deal with European clubs in January.

If Blackburn are unable to link him to a new deal, there is likely to be a close race to sign him on a free transfer.

Now many clubs are aware of the Blackburn striker, with 90min reporting that Manchester United are one of nine Premier League clubs that have been eyeing Diaz.

West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Leeds, Bournemouth and Everton are listed as clubs considering signing Diaz.

It’s no surprise to see a host of clubs keeping an eye on Diaz considering his goalscoring record and age profile. It is always a risk to hope that a player can transfer his goals from a lower league to the Premier League, but if Diaz is available on a free transfer the risk is significantly reduced.
