English Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing German international Jamal Musiala from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
Born in Germany, Musiala joined the Southampton academy in England at a very young age. The midfielder soon became part of the Chelsea academy. Musiala spent eight years at Chelsea and then joined Bayern’s youth team.
He then graduated from Bayern’s academy and played for their reserve team. After impressing with the second team, Musiala was promoted to the senior team. Afterwards, he soon burst onto the scenes and became one of the mainstays of the team.
Musiala represented both England and Germany at youth level, eventually deciding to pledge allegiance to the German national team.
Manchester City and Liverpool will fight for Musiala
According to a recent report from English Premier League giants Calciomercato, Manchester City are interested in bringing German international Jamal Musiala to the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City, defending champions of the English Premier League, have built one of the strongest teams in the world. They have multiple quality players at each position. However, like their manager Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City management believe change is the key to success.
Manchester City captain Ilkay Gudogan will end his contract at the end of the season. And so far there are no reports of a contract renewal. Then there is Bernardo Silva, who would like to move to Spain and Barcelona are after him.
So Manchester City are looking for a number of midfielders and Jamal Musiala became the latest addition to that list.
In addition to the Citizens, another English team, Liverpool, are also keeping a close eye on the midfielder. Both teams are also in the running for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
However, with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United involved in the Bellingham transfer, City and Liverpool are already beginning to look at other alternatives. And now it seems that both have returned to target the same player.
Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala is considered a key player for Bayern. The midfielder has been one of the Bavarians’ best players this season. He has a contract with Bayern until the summer of 2026 and the Bavarians are not in the mood to sell him.
With Musiala’s recent performances, it is expected that there will be multiple suitors for the young German midfielder. But that shouldn’t really worry Bayern, as the youngster himself is now focused on staying in Munich for a long time.
