Manchester City charged with breach of Financial Fair Play – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester City have been accused by the Premier League of violating the rules of financial fair play.

The independent report:

“In an unprecedented statement, the Premier League alleged that the offenses occurred over nine seasons, from 2009 to 2018. Manchester City won the Premier League three times during that period.”

The Premier League said the alleged breaches concerned “accurate financial information that gives a fair and faithful view of the club’s financial situation”, in particular its “revenue”, “sponsorship income” and “operating costs”.

“The Premier League listed more than 100 breaches of its rules over the nine-season period, including ‘remuneration’ from player and manager contracts and breaches of financial fair play rules.”

“It is also alleged that Manchester City did not cooperate with the Premier League in its investigation, which began in December 2018.”

Man City have cooked up the book for years and now they are finally facing the consequences of their actions.

The investigation began in 2019 and it has taken four years to reach this conclusion.

This could have serious ramifications for his previous season and titles.

City could get a points deduction or even be stripped of their previous Premier League titles.

The report also mentions a possible ‘expulsion’ from the league.

If City are found guilty, it could be argued that Man United won the league in 2011/12 and 2017/18.

The report goes on to say:

“City has been referred to an independent commission, which will determine whether the club has breached Premier League rules.”

“If the club is found guilty, the punishment could range from a points deduction to possible exclusion from the Premier League.”

“Manchester City are expected to defend themselves against the charges.”
