Man United bidders fearful of Qatar interest as intricate plans for the city come to light – Man United News And Transfer News

Potential Manchester United bidders and those close to the process fear they will not be able to compete with Qatari investors for the Red Devils.

According to The Times, there is a belief that Qatar will be difficult to beat due to their extremely deep pockets and the country’s keen desire for United to be their first England acquisition.

The Times adds that Qatar’s interest in the 20-time English champions is also fueled by their desire to build five-star hotels in Manchester.

“After all, Manchester is a destination your airline already flies to and there is talk, even now, of what ambitious plans they may have for Old Trafford and the surrounding area. The need for more five-star hotels in the city has been identified”.

One problem that has arisen is the conflict of interest caused by QSI’s ownership of PSG. This is something that powerful people believe can be mitigated with expensive lawyers.

“There is a view that the UEFA rules should not prove too difficult for some equally expensive lawyers to navigate. The Qataris privately insist that it is possible to identify a legal distinction between QIA, QSI and any other investor.”

“UEFA experts suggest that it would only become an issue to look at if United return to the Champions League.”

Qatari investors enjoy the privilege of a fruitful and prosperous relationship with UEFA after Nasser-Al-Khelaifi’s role in the botch of the European Super League. In PSG’s tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin was invited by Al-Khelaifi in France.

The Times reports that there will be interest in United from key players in the United States before the Glazers’ deadline on Friday ends. Even though these parties do not show their hand, they will contact Raine to participate in the auction.

Miguel Delaney notes that while the Glazers contacted Qatar earlier in the year about the possibility of buying the club, it’s important to note that Jim Ratcliffe enjoys local support, being an Oldham boy and British businessman.

“His [Ratcliffe] The valuation is considerably lower than that of the Glazers. However, his offer will factor in government support, as it represents the return of British money to the UK economy for one of its most famous cultural institutions.”

There are concerns that the Glazers are on a “fishing expedition” and have no real intention of handing over the reins at Old Trafford.

Delaney details that Joel and Avram Glazer could become possible buyers of the club themselves. The two brothers can seek the support of Apollo and buy the rest of their brothers.

The riots and internal politicking within the Glazer family have been compared to that of Succession, a popular television show based on a billionaire media mogul’s intent to hand over his business empire to his bellicose and power-hungry sons.

While the rest of the Glazer brothers want a full sale of United, Joel and Avram are more in favor of a partial sale and a minority investment that allows them to retain control.
