Man City transfer news: Jude Bellingham for £83m

Manchester City may reportedly have the upper hand over Manchester United and their other rivals for the potential transfer of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham next summer.

It has been a pleasure to watch the highly rated young England international in his time in the Bundesliga, and it would be exciting to see him in the Premier League before what could be his best years.

Bellingham has been linked with a host of major clubs of late, although The Athletic recently suggested his asking price could be as high as £131m.

It now appears that Dortmund could accept more than £83m as long as the fee is paid up front, which could give City the advantage, according to the Sun.

The report also mentions Manchester United as one of the clubs that would be interested in Bellingham, but another advantage for City could be the presence of Bellingham’s former team-mate Erling Haaland.

It would be exciting to see the pair come together again after they looked so impressive together in Dortmund, and one imagines that Pep Guardiola in general could be a great manager for the development of these two elite young players.

Bellingham would no doubt be very welcome at Man Utd, but the Red Devils are not the force they used to be, and may not even be able to offer Champions League football next season.

Will Bellingham join the city revolution? It would certainly make sense, and it looks like they might as well get it for a bargain fee if the Sun report is to be believed.
