‘Look out the Devil has come’ – Managers chilling message for domestic middleweights

Middleweights beware, a demon from Dublin is coming to haunt the division.

That’s the warning Ian Gaughran has for those around 160 pounds nationally after hiring Peter Carr.

The IGB boss has finally brought Carr into the lane of professional boxing and he is very excited about the journey ahead.

The manager, who has Graham McCormack, Jamie Morrissey, Dave Ryan and the like in his squad, believes Carr has the attributes to shake things up at Irish level and promises he will at least be a fun addition to the scene.

“I’ve been waiting for Peter to come into the stable and now that we’ve done it and got over the line, I’m absolutely excited,” he tells Irish-boxing.com when talking about a fighter who will debut on February 9. .

“He guarantees excitement and is a great puncher; we will have fun as he advances through the ranks and establishes himself as a professional boxer, because he is not afraid of anyone and will be a major problem for everyone at middleweight and even light middleweight.”

The former Crumlin BC amateur has recently been seen competing in kickboxing and Muay Thai, but will return to the sweet science next month.

“I really can’t wait to see him in the ring and he will be coming out very soon on the JB Promotions card at the brilliant Warehouse; I have no doubt that his followers will make a lot of noise.

“He mixed with all the top guys when he was younger in the amateur ranks and had an incredible career in kickboxing, where he won European and world titles,” he adds, referring to the background of the bangers mentored by Jimmy Upton.

Full throttle won’t be necessary when it comes to Carr’s progression, but Gaughran doesn’t think it will be long before he reaches top speed.

“In the long term, the world is its oysters, but it’s only 25 years old and we’re in no rush; it’s in very good hands with Jimmy Upton and between us we’ll make sure it progresses properly, but it won’t be long before it hits the mark. passed”. above.

“Be careful, the devil has come!”
