Locatelli admits Juventus approached their loss to Benfica wronglyJuvefc.com

Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli admits that his game against Benfica did not start well.

The Bianconeri were eliminated from the UCL after losing 4-3 to the Portuguese in Lisbon.

They traveled to Portugal knowing that only a win would keep them in the UCL until the last group game of the season.

However, the Bianconeri were unable to do their job, partly thanks to a slow start to the match.

They have now been eliminated and must beat PSG in their final group game as they hope Maccabi Haifa fail to defeat Benfica before they can continue in Europe.

Speaking after the match, Locatelli said via Calciomercato:

“It is really a shame. The last 20 minutes are for a team that has the attributes to play these games. Let’s see the positive things.

“Football is made up of episodes. The approach was wrong for the whole team, not for a single player.

“There was a risk of a bad game. We had a very bad first half, but then we reacted. We have to carry this reaction with us.”

It’s good that Locatelli recognizes that the team was in bad form and has to do better in a game like that.
