Loanwatch: Ethan Laird dazzles for QPR as Alvaro Fernandez and Ethan Galbraith falter in defeats – Man United News And Transfer News

Some of Manchester United’s loanees were in action for their teams over the weekend in the Championship, La Liga and even the Premier League.

Some of these stars who left Old Trafford in search of first-team minutes were exemplary and made invaluable contributions to the causes of their temporary patrons.

Dean Henderson, for example, was incredible, making several heroic saves to help Nottingham Forest to a hard-fought 1-0 win against Liverpool.

Amad Diallo impressed for The Black Cats, capping off an impressive outing with a first goal for Sunderland.

This is how the others on loan from United performed.

alex telles

Brazilian defender Telles featured for Sevilla in a 3-1 loss to La Liga champions Real Madrid.

Telles recorded a block, an interception and a tackle in the Showtime game.

The 29-year-old had 44 touches on the ball and a decent passing accuracy of 80.6%.

Telles was unable to complete a single long ball or cross and was unable to show his offensive dynamism against the much superior Real Madrid galácticos.

He won two of the three ground duels he participated in and completed the only dribbling attempt he had.

Telles, in what was a mixed performance, lost possession nine times and had two of his shots on goal blocked.

ethan galbraith

Galbraith played 57 minutes for Salford City in a 2–0 loss against Stockport County.

The youngster touched the ball 21 times and of the passes he had to his name, including a key pass, he had a passing accuracy of 78.6%.

Galbraith completed 1/2 long balls and lost possession eight times.

One amazing element of the 21-year-old came in the form of his duels. He won 0 of his five ground duels, but won four of his five aerial ones.

Ultimately, the midfielder fouled twice for Salford and was only dribbled once.

Ethan Laird

Laird appeared again for QPR in a 2–1 win against Wigan, a result that ensured they remained top of the Championship table.

Laird had a punt, an interception, a key pass and a tackle.

The right-back had 38 touches on the ball and an astounding 90% passing accuracy for Micheal Beale’s team.

He successfully delivered one of two long balls he sought to send to his teammates.

Laird won 2/4 ground duels and 1/3 aerial duels. He was fouled and recorded a single shot that went wide.

The academy graduate is one who seems to be enjoying his spell on loan and is firmly seizing the opportunity.

Alvaro Fernandez

Álvaro Fernández participated with Preston North End in a 4-2 thrashing at the hands of Michael Appleton’s Blackpool in the Lancashire derby.

The young left-back had 48 touches on the ball and 66.7% passing accuracy. There were two key passes.

Of the six crosses and five long balls he attempted, only two of each metric were successful.

Fernández was poor defensively, only winning two of his seven duels, both on the ground and in the air.

The Spaniard lost possession a staggering 18 times.

After a great start on loan, Fernandez will no doubt know that he needs to improve on current form. The positive for him is that he is a guaranteed starter for Preston and is enjoying some positive time out on loan so far.
