Liverpool’s outburst against Real Madrid and question their ‘rationale’

Liverpool and Real Madrid have a seemingly growing history on the biggest stage of club football and now our club has released a harsh club statement against the Spanish.

Via the club’s website they wrote: ‘Liverpool FC have received an allocation of 1,800 for the Champions League away game against Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday 15 March.

‘This allocation is significantly less than expected for this game. The club has contacted UEFA and Real Madrid regarding the reduced allocation to understand the reasons for this decision.

When the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is expected to house 3,000 of our fans, receiving little more than half of that allocation is almost derisory and fair for those who made the decision to publicly express our displeasure.

It also appears that ‘Spirit of Shankly, the Official Supporters Trust and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association’ were important in publishing this statement and that is testament to their role in representing fans at the highest level of our operations.

Even with the current construction work taking place on the famous old ground, we would expect a larger allowance to be given to us.

Let’s hope that the correct conclusion is found after this statement and that we can see more of the traveling Kop supporting Jurgen Klopp’s side.
