Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez was responsible for a minor scuffle in Uruguay’s clash with Ghana after engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct just before the African side was about to take a penalty.
Ghana were awarded a penalty in the first half, but Sergio Rochet saved the shot on the South Americans’ goal, which was a game changer as Uruguay scored twice soon after.
However, prior to the penalty, Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez sparked a small scuffle when the striker kicked the penalty spot to lessen Ghana’s chances of scoring.
This is considered an unsportsmanlike act in the game and the 23-year-old was shown a yellow card as a result.
