One of the standout players of the 2022 World Cup has been Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat.
Fiorentina’s defensive midfielder has been a mainstay for his country and although the North Africans were knocked out in the semi-finals after losing 2-0 to France, from a player’s point of view, Amrabat did nothing to damage his reputation.
Indeed, after what has been a genuinely decent international campaign for the 26-year-old physicist, a number of clubs are reportedly already interested in signing him, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Speaking to ‘House of Champions CBS’ on YouTube, Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: “They [Fiorentina] They say in private that they want around 40 million euros to sell Sofyan Amrabat, so it is true that there is interest from foreign clubs, including Liverpool, but at the moment there are no negotiations.

Echoing Romano’s assessment, journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Amrabat’s inspired World Cup campaign could well see Fiorentina increase their valuation.
“The only thing is that Amrabat has probably increased its price in the process as well,” O’Rourke told GiveMeSport.
“If he can show that kind of form that has been shown in Morocco, I’m sure there will be a lot of takers for him.”
Since joining the Serie A side from Verona in 2020, Amrabat, who has three years left on his contract, has featured in 78 matches, in all competitions, directly contributing to just one goal along the way.
