Liverpool transfer news: Kudus wants Premier League

Liverpool reportedly had informal contact about the possible transfer of Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus in the summer.

Everton were also interested at the time and remain so now, according to The Athletic, with the Ghana international believed to prioritize a transfer to the Premier League at some point in the near future.

It would have been difficult for Ajax to sell Kudus in the summer as they have already lost their manager Erik ten Hag to Manchester United, as well as two star players in Lisandro Martinez and then Antony.

Still, Kudus continues to impress and would surely be a good fit for Liverpool, who appear to be in need of a major revamp in the midfield department, with more than one signing likely to be needed.

It’s been a bad start to the season for Jurgen Klopp’s team, so making some changes to the squad is surely a priority now, with Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Thiago Alcantara no longer in their prime, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita’s futures are also in doubt.

Athletic note that Liverpool appear to be favorites to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but there could also be room for Kudus to move to Anfield.
