Liverpool star shares emotional Instagram post after missing out on World Cup squad

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino shared an emotional post on Instagram after missing out on Brazil’s World Cup squad.

The Brazilian team has one of the most competitive squads in the world. Even making the team not care about the starting eleven is a tall order, even for some of the biggest players in the top leagues.

Above, the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Vinicius JR, Rodrygo, Richarlison and Neymar compete for a place, with Firmino also regularly called up to the squad.

However, the Liverpool striker has missed Brazil’s World Cup squad and took to Instagram to share an emotional post.

It’s sad to see Firmino refer to playing for Brazil as a ‘dream’, and the Liverpool striker could feel bad after the season he’s had in the Premier League so far.

Firmino has more Premier League goals than Jesus, Antony, Richarlison and Gabriel Martinelli this season, and all four were called up to the squad ahead of Firmino.

Tite has clearly chosen to include some of the younger stars of the next generation in his team, rather than the experience of Firmino.
