Liverpool midfielder possibly hit with another injury setback – could be a while until fans see him again

Naby Keita may have suffered another injury setback after his absence was noted in Friday’s training photos.

This is courtesy of Neil Jones’s ‘Covering Liverpool’ blog ahead of the Reds’ upcoming meeting with Tottenham in north London.

The Merseysiders will be looking to build on an impressive 2-0 performance against then-unbeaten Napoli and make up for an earlier 2-1 loss against Leeds United at Anfield.

It’s a shame we won’t be able to see our Guinean international until after the World Cup given the excellent campaign he enjoyed in 2021/22.

That said, it serves to further highlight the pressing need for serious midfield reinforcements as early as the January window.

ESPN suggested that Jude Bellingham could leave Borussia Dortmund in the winter window, although we find it hard to believe that the German team will part with its prodigy star before the summer.

As such, the likes of Konrad Laimer seem much more realistic if we’re looking to dive into the market early to fix our matches in the middle of the park.
