It remains a matter of debate who currently has the upper hand in negotiations with the German-based team over their star’s future.
The notion that Liverpool will simply be blown out of the water due to their financial capabilities compared to those of Manchester City and Real Madrid may seem too dismissive given the importance Bellingham places on personal development.
That’s not to say Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti can’t meet that particular demand, although with Jurgen Klopp the 19-year-old would also be in extremely safe hands when it comes to his talent ceiling.
All that remains to be seen is whether FSG will commit more than the £85.9m our owners are reportedly willing to put up to bring us to the table next summer.
