As two of the best options in their respective fields, we could hardly blame Erik ten Hag’s team for seeking both free agents this summer.
With a possible takeover on the horizon as well, Edwards could be given a much more flexible mandate than he operated during his time at Anfield.
Similarly, of course, the same could be said for Jurgen Klopp’s side if FSG manages to secure a suitable investor or new owner.
Still, it’s clear that we’ll have a lot of work to do between now and the end of the season to ensure key backroom positions are filled, and to a high standard.
