Liverpool face double blow; Reds employee could go to Manchester United

Liverpool may have to pluck up their courage to take a double whammy as the club are reportedly concerned that Ian Graham could target arch-rivals Manchester United having delivered his notice.

This news comes courtesy of Football Insider, and the Reds will lose both their research director and Julian Ward in the summer.

The publication has already suggested that the Red Devils are interested in adding the former Merseysiders sporting director to their ranks.

As two of the best options in their respective fields, we could hardly blame Erik ten Hag’s team for seeking both free agents this summer.

With a possible takeover on the horizon as well, Edwards could be given a much more flexible mandate than he operated during his time at Anfield.

Similarly, of course, the same could be said for Jurgen Klopp’s side if FSG manages to secure a suitable investor or new owner.

Still, it’s clear that we’ll have a lot of work to do between now and the end of the season to ensure key backroom positions are filled, and to a high standard.
