Liverpool dealt ‘muscle injury’ blow as length of absence of ‘fantastic’ midfielder unclear

Liverpool will be ready to make a visit to North London without the help of loan signing Arthur Melo.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the Brazilian suffered a ‘muscle injury’ in training ahead of the Champions League meeting with Rangers, as conveyed in a tweet from David Lynch.

It’s a great shame for the 26-year-old given how hard he has been working in the international break to get back up to speed and ready for selection.

Arthur Melo fell out of favor at Juventus, although there are hopes he can reinvigorate his career on Merseyside.

At the current time, it’s unclear how long exactly we’ll be without our No.29, who Alisson Becker previously dubbed a ‘fantastic player’ (as reported by Sky Sports, via HITC), though we can only hope it’s a brief rest period for the midfielder amid his continued attempts to break into the first team.

His latest setback certainly won’t help overcome the thoughts of some fans who suspect the club merely secured ‘another body’ to boost numbers at the height of our mid-park injury crisis.

We wish Arthur a speedy recovery in a particularly intense month of football for Liverpool.
