Manchester United were beaten 3-1 at the hands of Aston Villa, in what was a dismal performance by most of Erik ten Hag’s players.

United’s goal was an own goal by Ramsey when he deflected a Luke Shaw volley that seemed destined to go wide.
United gathered 58% of the ball to Villa’s 42%.
The Red Devils registered eight shots, with just three on target. Two of them arrived in the first 45 minutes.
In comparison, Unai Emery’s men had six shots and four putting David de Gea to the test.

United, on the other hand, had a passing accuracy of 84% of the 529 passes they made.
They were poor players all over the field, but one who can keep his head up after the shocking loss is Lisandro Martinez.
The Argentine recovered well after some early mishaps, with his valuable contributions helping to keep the scoreline respectable.
MartÃnez made two crucial clearances in the 90 minutes he was on the pitch.
The defender also made a similar number of interceptions.
The 24-year-old, who quickly became a cult hero at the Theater of Dreams, had three tackles to his name, in his ranking of Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailly.
Martinez won 3/7 ground duels and 100% of his contests in the air.
Surprisingly, the player had 102 touches on the ball and a passing accuracy of 89% – his technical brilliance was on display again in the Villa defeat.
Ultimately, MartÃnez successfully hit seven long balls.
It’s nice that, even on a horrible day, Martinez can still find it within himself to put on an outstanding performance.
