Lionel Messi extends support to Argentina teammates

Paris Saint-Germain striker and Argentine captain Lionel Messi showed his support for injured Argentine duo Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria ahead of the upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Argentine hero of the Copa América, Ángel Di María, is not going through his best moment since his arrival at Juventus. The winger has been out several times in recent weeks. And now, just before the 2022 Qatar World Cup, he suffered a hamstring injury in Juventus’ last game against Maccabi Haifa.

Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala joined AS Roma from Juventus at the start of the season. With José Mourinho, it seemed that the striker had regained his former form. He is currently a key member of Lionel Scaloni’s Roma and Argentina. But unfortunately for both Roma and Argentina, the striker suffered a muscle injury that keeps him sidelined.

Now, with two of their best players injured, Argentine fans are feeling the heat ahead of the next World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina is one of the fittest teams in the world. The team managed by Lionel Messi is currently the defending champion of the Copa América and also the winner of the Finalissima.

They are currently undefeated in their last 35 matches. Hence, many experts and together with the fans have chosen them as favorites for the next World Cup in Qatar 2022.

However, just before that, some bad news has reached the Argentine countryside. Two of its main stars, Ángel Di María and Paulo Dybala, have been left out due to injuries.

There are doubts about the availability of the Argentine duo, but Lionel Messi is currently hopeful about his return.

“I hope they both recover, they have plenty of time to be fit for the World Cup. Hopefully we can all arrive in good health,” Messi told DIRCETV Sports.

Now Lionel Messi himself is also currently injured. The Argentine superstar suffered a calf injury during a UEFA Champions League match against Benfica. He hasn’t played since then and missed the last two games with PSG.

Speaking about it, the PSG striker said: “It’s a concern because it’s a different World Cup, you play at a different time and we’re so close that any little thing that could happen to you could leave you out.”

Now Messi’s injury is not as serious as that of his teammates. He is set to return in PSG’s next game against Marseille.

The Argentinian superstar now hopes that he and his teammates will return to top form ahead of the perennial event.
