Leonard Ellerbe rips “dumb***” Eddie Hearn “it’s lies”

Leonard Ellerbe continued his assault on Eddie Hearn as the pair traded barbs after Canelo vs. GGG 3 Pay Per View.

The CEO of Mayweather Promotions has a deep distaste for everything the head of Matchroom Boxing in America does, from working with Canelo to depleting his massive DAZN budget.

After getting into a heated argument about Canelo vs GGG 3 pay-per-view sales, Ellerbe reminded Hearn of his mantra when he joined DAZN in 2018.

Leonard Ellerbe sleeps with Eddie Hearn

“Imagine a promoter wasting millions and millions of dollars aggressively pushing a stupid campaign in the United States. [He said] “PPV is dead”, just to get to this [selling PPV for $84.99].

“I respect Canelo and GGG, get your money,” he added after learning that Canelo Alvarez received $45 million and Gennadiy Golovkin $20 million.

On the reported purchases of one million and change worldwide, Ellerbe does not believe that Canelo vs. GGG 3 was a success under Hearn’s direction.

They are lies, lies. Crazy because he overpaid, and the PPV drastically underperformed. He can’t direct that other bull at any of us.

“Remember, this is the same guy who spent millions and millions of dollars on a campaign to promote ‘PPV is Dead’.

“Just ten months ago, Canelo vs Plant made 800k PPV buys in the US on Showtime PPV, and the combined purses were $50 million.

“But the great trilogy/rivalry between Canelo/GGG3 makes 250k purchases less [reportedly 550,000]. The combined portfolios are $25 million more.

“Make it make business sense. Facts!”

Stephen Espinoza enters

Ellerbe was not the only one. Showtime’s Stephen Espinoza took issue with a DAZN press release outlining how they totaled PPV buys from the Las Vegas trilogy fight.

Espinoza asked: “Can someone explain what this gibberish means?

“…over 1.06 million purchases generated worldwide, including PPV and DAZN subscriptions…”

“Since when do PPV purchases include subscriptions? If they do, we have been seriously underreported. Hint: they don’t. It is intentional obfuscation.

“That would still be a PPV purchase, not a subscription. They didn’t say “subscriber purchases.” They said 1.06 million, including “PPV purchases” and “subscriptions.”

“So they count subscriptions as part of purchases.”

In response to a fan trying to justify the one million total, Espinoza added: “False. Here’s the quote from the release: “Over 1.06 million purchases generated worldwide, including PPV and DAZN subscriptions.”

“It doesn’t say ‘PPV purchases’.

Jake Paul Lawsuit

Hearn seems to be getting it from every angle right now. He is already involved in legal action over comments made by fake boxer Jake Paul.

Allegations that Hearn put Judge Glenn Feldman on his payroll did not sit and saw Hearn sue the ex-Disney child actor.

Feldman was involved in two highly controversial cards in New York and Saudi Arabia. Paul expressed disgust at him and has yet to apologize.
