Leeds in pole position to land PSV striker in £30million deal

Leeds are set to beat Manchester United in the race for PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo, according to the Mirror.

Leeds United and Gakpo have reportedly agreed personal terms and now PSV Eindhoven and the Yorkshire club are currently negotiating for the 23-year-old who is set to cost £30m in January.

After being eliminated by Rangers from the Champions League qualifying rounds, PSV intend to cash in during the January transfer window.

Gakpo is much admired by Leeds manager Jesse Marsch, who wants him to team up with Colombian striker Luis Sinisterra. The adaptable PSV captain is capable of playing in four different positions, but this year he has stood out as No. 10 after Van Gaal told him that was his best position.
