Late Strike From Dusan Vlahovic Gave Juventus a Derby Victory

Italian giants Juventus recorded a narrow win against local rivals Torino in their last Serie A game.

A late goal from Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic was enough for Juventus to earn a 1-0 victory against their arch-rivals.

Before the match, Juventus was not in a good position. They had won just three of their first ten games in the domestic league.

On top of that, they suffered a humiliating 2-0 loss against Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in their last Champions League match. So the pressure was building on Allegri’s team and it was time for them to deliver.

Dusan Vlahovic’s late strike gave Juventus a derby win

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri deployed a 3-5-2 setup. Wojciech Szczesny started in goal. Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro completed the three-man defense. Filip Kostic and Juan Cuadrado played on the wings.

Meanwhile, Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie started in midfield. Dusan Vlahovic and Moise Kean formed the lead.

Despite the urgency of their game, Juventus struggled to create chances in the first half of the match. His first chance fell to Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in the 34th minute. However, his shot was well stopped by his compatriot Vanja Milinkovic.

Milinkovic then denied Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli with a great save. Thus, Juventus went to the locker room with 0-0 at the break.

After the break, Milinkovic managed to clear a brilliant rebound from Locatelli to keep the score level.

Juventus striker Moise Kean then had the best chance of the match, but the striker was unable to control his shot on goal from close range.

Finally, in the 74th minute, Dusan Vlahovbic gave Juventus the lead. The Serb who quickly lost his marker was found by Danilo in the box. Vlahovic made no mistake in scoring to get past Milinkovic.

After getting the goal, Juventus controlled the match and did not give Torino a chance to force a draw. The match ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Allegri’s team.

With this victory, the Bianconeri have sixteen points from ten games. They are currently in seventh position in the Serie-A table. Juventus will now face Empoli in their next match. Allegri’s team hope to continue their momentum as they battle for the top four spots.

Meanwhile, after the loss, Torino are currently in 11th position in the table. They will face Cittadella in their next match.
