Landucci praises Juventus young players after they beat Monza

Juventus picked up a 2-1 win against Monza in the Coppa Italia yesterday, with Max Allegri serving a suspension, but they still did well.

The Bianconeri began their cup campaign against the Boys de Brianza and had to show they had bounced back from their 5-1 loss to Napoli in their previous competitive outing.

Gaffer’s assistant Marco Landucci replaced Allegri and saw the boys take a well-deserved victory in the match. Subsequently, he said via Football Italia:

“It was an important game, we needed to get back on track, there were a lot of young guys who did very well and they are happy because the Coppa Italia matters to Juventus.

“It’s a shame we conceded a goal from a corner where we should have been more careful, but the important thing was to get to the next round.”

Juve FC says

Beating Monza was very important for our confidence after such a disastrous performance against Napoli and it’s great to see the youngsters step up.

Federico Chiesa has also entered the scoreboard, which is very positive because we need his contribution in this second part of the legislature to reach the level we want.

Hopefully the guys will stay in good physical and mental shape when we face Atalanta in our next game because that game will be much more difficult.
