Despite signing a new contract with PSG just five months ago, French superstar Kylian Mbappe is ready to put his name back on the transfer market.
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is reportedly extremely unhappy with his current club. Supposedly, the France international is so upset that he wants to change teams from January.
French journalist Julien Laurens assured that the player feels cheated by PSG. “He feels betrayed by the club in the sense that all the things the club promised him when he signed that new contract until 2025 have not happened,” Laurens said on BBC radio.
“The promises that they would sign a new striker to play in his best position outside of the striker, that Neymar would not be there and they would sell him, that they would sign a central defender and that he would be at the center of the project. All these things have not happened.”
Previously, Mbappé surprised many in the sport by re-signing with the Parisian club in May. Although pundits and fans assumed he would move to Real Madrid, Mbappé signed the most lucrative contract in the sport. Along with his base salary, the Frenchman also reportedly received a huge sign-on bonus to stay in Paris.

Due to this massive contract, it will be difficult to walk away from PSG. Furthermore, the French champions have no intention of allowing their star to leave in January. PSG sporting director Luis Campos has even rejected claims that his player wants to leave. “I am with Kylian Mbappé every day,” Campos told Canal Plus. “He has never talked to me about leaving in January.”
However, the Telegraph reports that the suitors will have to pay a minimum of $291 million to transfer Mbappé to their club. This fee could even reach $340 million.
A January transfer seems highly unlikely at this point. Even a summer move out of Paris would be extremely difficult for a club to pull off. Real Madrid were previously interested in signing Mbappe on a free transfer last summer, but it remains to be seen if he will shell out the massive money for a transfer fee.
It looks like the player and team could be ready for a showdown. Either Mbappé could force him out of the club or PSG would give in to his demands.
