Kulusevski reveals why he left Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur: Dejan Kulusevski joined the London side on an 18-month loan deal from Juventus during this year’s January transfer window.

The 22-year-old star has established himself as one of the best attacking players in the Premier League since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has made 25 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far, registering six goals and 11 assists.

Kulusevski was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for March 2022 and also won Tottenham Hotspur’s Player of the Month award for April this year.

The London outfit have the option to sign the Sweden international permanently for €35m (via Guardian) at the end of the current season. They are likely to exercise that option given Kulusevski’s impressive start to life at the club.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Dejan Kulusevki revealed that Antonio Conte played a pivotal role in his quest to leave Juventus and join Tottenham.

He said: “I was not happy at Juventus, so joining Tottenham was a great choice for me. I am very happy to work with Conte. Trust me, I have never seen anyone in my life motivated like Antonio Conte. His words enter your heart.”

Kulusevki joined Juventus from Atalanta in the January 2020 window. He made 55 league appearances during his time at the Allianz Stadium, registering five goals and six assists.

The 22-year-old attacker helped the Turin team win a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana. He also won the Serie A Young Player of the Season award in the 2019-20 season.

Big push ahead of North London derby for Spurs

Ivan Perisic returned to full training ahead of Spurs’ Premier League exit against rivals Arsenal later this week.

Perisic was injured during Croatia’s UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark last week. He collided with his Spurs teammate Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and was forced to leave the field midway through the second half.

However, he recently uploaded a photo to his social media account, taking part in a full training session for Croatia. He is expected to be back in top form ahead of the Spurs’ game against the Gunners.

Perisic has established himself among the key players in Antonio Conte’s side following his transfer from Inter Milan last summer. He has made nine appearances in all competitions for Tottenham so far, registering three assists.
