Kostas Tsimikas now reacts to ‘very sad’ news coming out of Liverpool

Many Liverpool fans have been looking forward to the return of electric left winger Luis Diaz after it was reported that the Colombian would return to the pitch during the club’s time in Dubai.

“It’s bad luck for Luis and I feel very sad for him,” the Greece international told James Pearce in The Athletic.

“Fortunately, he is very strong mentally and physically.

“I wish him a speedy recovery and each one of us will be there for him along the way. We will be waiting for you.

Our remaining options are dismal, though there should be genuine concern about the state of the forward line should further injuries occur given the lack of depth beyond Darwin Nunez, Bobby Firmino and Mo Salah.

On the plus side, it looks like Diogo Jota’s recovery efforts are still on track ahead of a possible return in February, which will be a significant boost to our top four hopes by the end of the campaign.

In the meantime, we hope the warm-weather training camp was the perfect mini-preseason the club needed to clear our priorities and prepare the players for a tough second half of the season.
