It was a difficult day for Liverpool fans watching the World Cup as Lionel Messi’s desire to claim his first title was replaced with a desire for our Ibou Konate to come and achieve his dreams on the football pitch.
However, with our number 5 only receiving a brief cameo in extra time, any opportunity we had to support him was gratefully received and certainly made an impact on the pitch.

The Argentina captain and Qatar player of the tournament met our 23-year-old defender during extra time, when he promptly stripped the former Barcelona player in grand style.
The PSG attacker got the last laugh in winning the trophy, but there is very little our French hero could have done on the pitch and we should all be very proud of him.
