Liverpool reportedly added Sven Mislintat as a possible candidate to the shortlist to replace Julian Ward as sporting director in May.
This news comes courtesy of a tweet from Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg following the Englishman’s explosive announcement.

The German, known as ‘Diamtenauge’ (Diamond Eye) after helping bring the likes of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Shinji Kagawa to Germany, has worked in the Premier League before, spending two years with Arsenal as their head scout.

Although his time in London didn’t work out as well as hoped, the Anfield hierarchy may be hoping to get the man the Gunners thought they would get from Borussia Dortmund.
There’s no denying that Mislintat’s resume from his time in Germany is truly impressive and he certainly has the experience to make a difference in recruiting a top team if given the chance.
Whether Liverpool is a good fit remains to be seen, as the club is reportedly reviewing its operating model and Mislintat worked well within a mode of working very similar to our current transfer policy.
