Klopp reveals what he did during his two days off ahead of the derby

After another poor result against Wolves, Jurgen Klopp gave his Liverpool players two days off in the hope that it would give everyone time to reset and mentally prepare for the Merseyside derby.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Everton match, the 55-year-old revealed what he did with his spare time: “You can’t forget it, just two days later he looks different, that’s right.

“I had a lot to do, but I had time to take a long walk on the beach, which I didn’t do for a long time. It was ok. It accommodates you.

“Then back (training) and the emotional level drops and the moment emotions go down, you can start thinking clearly again.”

It’s good to hear that the German could step back from the understandably high amount of pressure on his shoulders and return to training refreshed as well, with the players having time to recover.

Let’s hope this is a method that is successful against Sean Dyche’s side and that we eventually see an improvement in performance and results.
